In this podcast serial, we interview Ramon Mohandas, attache of education from the Embassy of Republic of Indonesia in The Hague. The interview was taken during Borneo Identity (14/3). Mohandas states the concern of the embassy to the Indonesian cultural event in the Netherlands. Besides, he announces the scholarship program for international students who wants to study Indonesian culture and arts (Darmasiswa).
Here is the interview translated into English:
What is your opinion according to this (Borneo Identity) event?
I am pleased with this event because it means to promote Indonesian culture to international society, and I think me must maintain it.
How do you think about organizing an event that promote Indonesian culture to foreign nations?
It is a good one and is also necessary to be organized by other Indonesian student associations (PPI). As I said during speech, Indonesian government has a program to promote our culture to international student. It is Darmasiswa scholarship. It is intended that they may know more about us.
How the embassy will support PPI to organizing such an event in the future?
Usually we support them. We have some funds to be donated although it is not so much.
